Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is off to a great 2nd semester!  I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas season.

It has been great to be in several classrooms last week and today.  I love coming into your classrooms and seeing the great things you are doing with your students.

We have a couple of teacher interns from Athens State University starting this week:

Miranda Perry - in 2nd grade w/ Mrs. Thomas & 4th grade w/ Mrs. Broussard
Heather Thompson - in 3rd grade w/ Mrs. Allen and in SpEd w/ Mrs. Root.

It is great to have the partnership with our local universities!  CES always does a great job of being a "teaching school" with all of our interns and our observers.  Thank you!

Data Meetings:


We will have mid-year Data Meetings with Grades 3, 4, & 5 on Tuesday, Jan 27 after school.

3rd Grade - in Tech Lab on B-wing w/ Mrs. Adams
4th Grade - in Leadership Room on C-wing w/ Mr. Scott
5th Grade - in Portable Computer Lab w/ Mr. Taylor

We will be looking at our recently given ACT Aspire Results, Global Scholar progress, report card and progress report data.

K, 1, 2 meetings will be the next week on Monday, Feb 2nd after school.

CES Building update:

Last week we had a meeting with our Architects and we are about 90% finished with the drawings for the new building.  Here is the current timeline we are working on:

Jan / Feb - Finalizing our plan in the next 2-3 weeks 
Feb - Sending plan to the State Department for approval
Mar - Bidding out the plan with the Board of Education
April - Accepting the bid from a construction company
May - Start construction

I know the construction start date has been pushed out a couple of times but please be positive and patient.
