Welcome back for week 3! Wow.....that's hard to believe. Seemed like it was a super long summer (which was great!) but already we are in our 3rd week....can't be?!?
We have had 2 great weeks I must say....thank you for all of your hard work. In some ways it does not even seem like we just began because everything is running so smoothly.
Move Your Bus
Part I - Get on the Bus:
Energetic teachers inspire energetic learners!
Be different and magical.
Constantly push yourself to do your best.
The more energy we bring, the more successful our students will be!
Your bus is any size, shape or color that works for you - your bus represents your goals and achievements.
Dismissal - I have been very impressed with afternoon dismissals - in all areas - car line, buses and K-line. To everyone who has just dropped in and helped on long car line days - Thank you! I am very thankful for all efforts in all dismissal areas. THANK YOU!
Discipline - we have had our fair share of start of the year discipline in a few areas. Please take the time this week to discuss your classroom management plans with your students and go over simple rules, your expectations and possible consequences.
Please call parents - During the first several weeks of school please build your relationships with your parents. Not just sending notes - but calling parents makes it much more personal.
HABIT 1 - Be proactive! We have not purchased the 7 Habits workbooks at this point but use resources you already have and talk to your students about Habit 1 the rest of the month of August.
Younger classrooms will need knowledge of what being proactive means and older students will need refreshers and reminders of how to be proactive at school! I am working on a short video you can share with your students on being proactive (more details later this week). :)
Short FM on Tuesday for Safety procedures review - 315 in the lunchroom. Sorry for the short notice on this but we didn't want to delay this until the next FM. Last week there was a lockdown @ Mt. Gap in Huntsville and a bomb threat evacuation @ Columbia Elem in Madison. We just want to go over a few reminders and get on the same page with everyone.

Building plan update - we hope to bid out the project in September and start construction in October.......we hope!
Have a great week and let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Thanks and Be a Leader this week!
