Next week will be Feb and this week we celebrated the 100th day of school across CES.
I attended a couple of meetings off campus this week and have had several meetings on campus this week.
Most of the meetings on campus have revolved around the new building which is looking better and better! We are still on track to finish sometime in March (prob after Spring Break).
Move in date is probably the end of March or 1st or April.
I will try to do an update with pictures later today.
We have been very busy with the furniture reps the past 2 to 3 weeks. We wish we would have had the funds to outfit the whole building but we will only have a limited amount of money in our budget.
We will have new furniture in about 1/2 the classrooms and the front office will have furniture. Maybe later on we will be able to fill up the rest with new furniture. After much discussion and input we went with tables and chairs in 10 classrooms which will be similar to our Tech room we have now. We will also have a Tech lab in the new building with similar furniture but we will also see some collaborative and fun seating.
Each room in the building will have a flat panel monitor which will be hooked up to our existing Apple TVs. We are planning to also have a Library / Media room in the new building and it will have tables and chairs similar to our Tech Lab w/ some possible soft seating.
I still do not have all the answers yet on staffing. We will know more soon.
Dr. Sisk is looking at posting and hiring the principal's position in the next couple of months. We will probably know more about the rest of the positions after that.
I know this is a lot but I am just trying to share with everyone as it is coming together.

With all the happenings in the last week or so I feel like I have not been in many classrooms....and I am sorry for not being visible as much as I would like.
I plan on doing a lot of my observations between now and Spring Break. I will be using a google sheet and will probably send out a schedule for several obs next week and the next.

I have been noticing a lot of "Chief Awards" coming through the office this week. It is great to see students faces as they come into the office proudly presenting their Chief Award. Thank you for continuing to recognize your students as they accomplish goals and do good deeds in your classrooms.

The Fred Factor - by Mark Sanborn
http://www.fredfactor.com/
I had the opportunity this week to meet and chat with Mark Sanborn. Mark is the author of "The Fred Factor". If you have not read this book you are really missing out.
The Fred Factor is a book based on a true story about a postman who made a difference by delivering excellent customer service. Fred passionately loved his job and showed it by the way he cared for everyone he served. A "Fred" goes the extra mile.....
Do we go the extra mile for our kids? Every day? Or just when we are having good days?
If you are interested in reading The Fred Factor let me know.
