April 2017

The school year is beginning to wind down but......

We are still having school @ Creekside.  :)

I hope you had a blessed Easter weekend and you were able to re-charge and have a lot of family time!

Stay strong each day you as you arrive on campus and keep your expectations high - for yourself, your students and parents.

Just some thoughts to keep us on track:

Simple Expectations

  • Love kids
  • Teach
  • Smile & Laugh
  • Be professional
  • Be a team player
  • Be a Leader!
Stay strong & finish strong

  • Come to school each day ready to tackle the day!
  • Encourage each other to stay strong and finish strong
  • Teach each day with a high level of passion -

Stay positive

  • Be positive
  • Positive emotions are contagious and so are negative ones
  • Be the positive leader in your classroom
  • Talk to your students in a positive way
  • Be positive with your co-workers
  • Be positive with your parents
  • Being positive makes us better leaders
  • When we become more positive & less negative we can change our perspective!
  • Becoming more positive & having more gratitude we can change & guide our own reality!

Keep preparing on a daily basis & Teach bell to bell each day
  • Stay strong with planning your lessons and preparing your resources
  • Plan rigorous lessons
  • Plan lessons that keep students actively engaged - not just worksheets
  • Dead time in your classrooms will provide negative results
  • Well planned lessons will provide students with rich learning opportunities and more positive results!
  • Work together with your co-workers - share - be a team player and encourage each other

Communicate with parents on a daily basis

  • Call parents
  • Pick up the phone and let them hear your voice.
  • Hearing your voice allows parents to understand you and understand how much you love their child.
  • Brag on our students who are doing a great job!  Show those students you care about them and appreciate their efforts by calling their parents and telling them how much you have enjoyed their child this year.
  • If students are having a hard time focusing & not meeting your expectations - call their parents
  • Let parents know you need their help in keeping their child in line the last several weeks of school
  • A simple phone call can make a world of difference...
Simple Expectations - again

  • Love kids
  • Teach
  • Smile & Laugh
  • Be professional
  • Be a team player
  • Be a Leader!

New School Update

As we near the completion of the new building for our campus we are becoming more and more excited.

The new building will become "Creekside Elementary" and will house grades 3, 4, and 5.

The old building will become "Creekside Primary" and will be the PreK, K, 1, and 2 building.

We hope to finish with the inside of the school in mid to late April or early May.

We are planning on moving in when everything is finished.  We will start moving all portable classrooms in first.

Creekside Primary School & Creekside Elementary School

Until July 1, 2017, I will remain as Principal over Creekside.

As of July 1, 2017, the original building will become Creekside Primary School (K-2) and the new building will become Creekside Elementary School (grades 3-5).

At our last LCS board of education meeting, I was named Principal of Creekside Primary School and Mrs. Dana Rhinehart was named Principal of Creekside Elementary School.

Congrats goes out to Mrs. Dana Rhinehart!  Mrs. Rhinehart will be "Principal in waiting" until July 1, 2017.  At that time she will become the new principal in the new building.  Mrs. Rhinehart is currently the Assistant Principal @ Tanner.

We plan on welcoming Mrs. Rhinehart @ CES on April 26th at our Faculty Meeting.

She will come by one day this week to tour the new building.
