Happy Mid-Summer!

I hope everyone is doing well and you have had a great summer!

I am going to start using a "Creekside Staff Blog" to communicate more this year and try to email less.  I think everyone's email box gets filled up way to much anyways!  :)

August 1st is just around the corner! 

First Week Schedule

• Aug 1 is local school PD/back to school faculty meeting. 
• FM @ 8:30 AM in library
• Aug 4 and 5 are curriculum days--mostly math, social studies, etc
•  Aug. 4 all sessions at Athens State
  Morning session 
  4th grade SS 
  1st, 3rd, & 5th Math
  Afternoon

  K, 2nd, 4th Math

  Aug. 5 8:00-1:30 Beasley center

  Grades K-3 & 5 SS

  MORE DETAILS LATER
• Aug 6 is workday
• Aug 7 is institute @ Elkmont
• Aug 7 is also Open House from 5:00-6:30
• Aug 8 is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!  :)

New Staff:

Jenny Sisk - 1st grade from Baldwin County
Michell Mitchell - Tech Facilitator from Cedar Hill
Valerie Wender Azzarello - 4th grade from Harvest (welcome back Valerie!)
Amanda Fee - Music

Grade Level Changes

K - staying 10 units but we are sad to see Ms. Crawford going to East but we are excited for her in new position as a teacher for them.  I know she is excited!  Good luck Ms. Crawford!  We have not hired anyone in her position at this time.

1st - moving back to 9 units.  This is a smaller class than first has had in past.  Mrs. Pride is moving back to 4th grade.  Mrs. Sisk will be in Mrs. M. Johnson's old room.

2nd - moving back to 9 units as well like first grade.  Mrs. McConnell is moving to 3rd grade.

3rd - moving up to 9 units. Ashley Carter moving from 5th to 3rd and Mrs. McConnell will make the 9th unit.  This 3rd grade group is our biggest class with almost 190 students.

4th - moving up to 8 units.  Mrs. Pride will stay in her room and be the 8th unit.  Mrs. Azzarello will be in Mrs. Cobb's old room.

5th grade - no changes other than Mrs. Carter moving down to 3rd and Mrs. Wilbanks staying in her place.

Departmentalization:

3rd, 4th and 5th will all be departmentalized next year!

3rd Grade

• 3 teams of 3 teachers

• Griffin, Fairley, Allen
• Rickard, Whiteside, Dorning
• Hill, Carter-A, McConnell

 4th Grade

• 2 teams of 4 teachers
• Pride, Azzarello, Broussard, Brooks
• Brown, Campbell, Carter-K, Quillen

5th Grade

• 2 teams of 4 teachers - just like last year w/ no change
• Wood, Wilbanks, Pettie, Turner
• Davis, Lacy, Newton, Skarp
